The beta is nearly finished and will replace the old site soon.
Since the previous post, we've added albums, charts, a reputation system and vastly improved the UI.
We're nearly finished labels and just have reviews left.
Thank you for your patience, we hope to have a non-broken Mundistry ready soon.

We've just finished the replacement for beta 1.1's activity page. Now called "Notifications", this new log of events that have happened in Mundistry has several improvements:

New, unread notifications will be highlighted when you visit the notifications page. Once you've read these notifications, they'll be marked as read so you know what's hot and what's not. And thanks to the new unread message count next to the notification icon in the navigation bar, you can now see at a glance if you have notifications to read.

We have bigger plans for this system in the future, including:

  • A popover that displays your notifications, so you don't have to stop what you're doing and load a dedicated page. This will also update automatically without you needing to refresh.
  • Potentially push notifications, which would send you a popup notification when an important event happens. And of course, if we decide to implement this, you'll have full control over what is classed as an important event.

You can access the notifications page by clicking the bell icon next to the account menu on the right side of the navigation bar. Don't hesitate to report any bugs on our Discord server in #bug-reports

It's been quite a while since development on beta 2 started, but we've finally implemented some game play!

The "My Songs" tab on the Studio page is now almost complete. Songs can be created, they count down and you can even release them for money and fans, just like in beta 1.x.

Of course, the new system comes with all the benefits of beta 2:

  • A much cleaner interface - Dialog boxes are now used for creating and releasing songs, making the interface less clunky.
  • Easier to search and sort - The information in the songs table has been substantially tagged up to insure that sorting works properly and that you'll always be able to find what you're looking for.
  • a much more stable backend - There's just less code in general and the code that is there is much more maintainable.
  • And much more!

while the equations have improved marginally, we are currently focusing on getting a playable game out first, before improving on them over time.

The system is still a bit rough around the edges, so don't hesitate to report any bugs on the Discord server.

There is now a page that lets you view stats and information about a particular user, much like the account.php and view_user.php pages of beta 1.1.

The new page sports a completely new, responsive layout that hopefully looks great on all screen sizes. It even has a handy tabview that allows you to view a user's singles, albums and reviews. We may add even more to this over time, such as collabs, concerts and much more.

You can view your profile page, where you can also edit your profile, by going to /profile or anyone else's by going to /profile/<username>. For example, here's my profile page.

You can check back here for news on the rewrite.
While we work on the beta, the main Mundistry website is still fully functional and will continue to be up until the beta is complete.
We look forward to seeing you here again soon!
